Board of advisors

Dr. Willy Legrand is Professor of Hospitality Management at the IUBH School of Business and Management in Bad Honnef - Bonn, Germany. He conducts research and lectures on sustainable hospitality development and management, hospitality facilities management and marketing at undergraduate and graduate levels in Germany but also as a visiting professor at reputable universities in Singapore, India, Dubai, France, Peru and the United States.  Prof. Legrand is the lead author of Sustainability in the Hospitality Industry: Principles of Sustainable Operations (textbook’s 3rd edition released in 2016). He is the Chief Editor of the Hotel Yearbook Sustainable Hospitality 2017 and he is the co-editor of Sustainable Hospitality and Tourism as Motors for Development: Case Studies from Developing Regions of the World and the co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Sustainable Food and Gastronomy released in 2015.

Prof. Legrand is also a guest editor for special issue on Social Entrepreneurship in Hospitality from the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management.

Chris Oestereich is a sustainable business expert who specializes in resource utilization optimization. His work and thought leadership around zero waste business systems has earned him recognition from multiple business press outlets. Running the retail and supply chain zero waste programs for a highly-diverse 1500+ outlet grocery firm, has given him the experience to devise solutions for a wide-variety of circumstances. Chris typically sees waste hauling cost reductions of 10-20% (sometimes much more), as well as increased recycling income and reduced operating costs.

Chris graduated from Harvard and is Director of Publications at School of Global Studies & Social Entrepreneurship, Thammasat University (Thailand).

Marc-Olivier Roux is an international development and partnerships professional with the belief that innovation and collaboration have a unique potential to help international aid organizations, corporations and impact investors achieve sustainable growth. ​
Passionate about designing sustainability-driven business development solutions, he thrives to build stronger and more authentic connections, better communications and more effective collaborations to make people and organizations more successful.  

Using its 20 years of professional experience in Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia, Marc-Olivier aims to scale impacts by bringing together purpose, human and capital. That is what "The Pledge" is about.
